Video of Punchbowl Cemetery

Writer: Fritz GaltFritz Galt

Few places make me reflect more on service and sacrifice than the Punchbowl Cemetery. High above Honolulu, this small volcanic crater holds the remains of American military veterans, nearly 13,000 of whom died during the War in the Pacific. Equally sobering, over 28,000 who were missing in action or who were lost or buried at sea having served in the Pacific, Korea, and Vietnam have their names etched on marble memorials below Lady Liberty.
